West Canyon Trail in Maple Ridge, BC

The West Canyon Trail in Golden Ears was such a beautiful hike – lush greenery, variety of paths, and a beautiful waterfall viewpoint. It reminded us a lot of Manoa Falls in Hawaii; it’s amazing that this is so close by in Maple Ridge!

We did the Lower Falls route (2.5 hrs round trip), as it was a pretty spontaneous hike, and we plan on going further up next time.

I highly recommend this hike. Dog-friendly, moderate to hard difficulty (depending on which trail you take), and absolutely gorgeous scenery!

Tank’s awesome saddle pack harness is from http://www.ruffwear.com, in case you’re interested. I love it because it is comfortable, keeps him safe, and carries his treats and our snacks…plus it’s a great conversation starter with other hikers!
