My fitness journey has been SO much more than just getting leaner, stronger, and healthier! It has also been about my personal growth. Proving to myself that I am capable of being greater than yesterday, building my self confidence which I’ve really struggled with, increasing my productivity in all aspects of my life, and inspiring others to live their best life by learning to be my best self.
My gf Ann recently shared this quote – “Maybe the journey isn’t so much about becoming anything. Maybe it’s about unbecoming everything that isn’t really you. So you can be who you were meant to be in the first place.”
This resonated with me because I’ve always compared myself and critiqued myself harshly, always wanting to be something else and to have traits that aren’t naturally me. I’ve only recently started practising self love and self acceptance, and honestly, it has helped in the health and fitness department a lot. I now know that I’m WORTHY of taking care of myself and having my dream body, and that I DESERVE to feel beautiful and live a happy life.
There’s still a long road ahead but man, does it ever feel good UNbecoming everything that isn’t really me!
